A couple of hours before I was watching the movie "Bombay"in K TV. What a piece of work. I have watched this movie so many times and yet I have never felt boring. This movie doesn't have the greatest dance moves, doesn't have jaw dropping fight sequences and nothing like a commercial tamil movie. Yet it is one of the well filmed movies of all time. I have never known a guy who doesn't like this movie. The background score was wonderful, one of which i can never forget in my life time.
Unlike a Kamal hassan movie where only his self portrayal would be more presented to the audience, this movie brings out the best from everyone. The twin kids, they are absolutely on the money. This is one of a movie which really makes me proud as an Indian.
I have been watching a lot of International movies nowadays which were critically acclaimed and even some of them are award winning movies. I have been noticing the most praised characters. 50% of the Oscar award winning characters are kinda just ordinary nothing so great about it. And I am sure that we have a lot more pool of acting talents and a lot of movies to compete with them.
When Slumdog Millionaire won the Oscars, for a while I was a bit happy like everyone else. Then I watched the movie. It is a good one. I don't have much of a negative comment. But I am just wondering is this the best came out of Indian Cinema. And is that the best from A.R.Rahman. Well they must be kidding me. I seriously doubt it. I have so much of movies to mention. Besides the accusations of copying a foreign movie, having a lower technology the indian cinema still produces wonderful movies every year.
If Oscars would have been for the entire world cinema across various cultures and languages surely the Indian Cinema would have got atleast a 100 Oscars to its account. But still we are still thinking that Oscar as a destination for the talents to be recognized. I understand that it gives an exposure to the people about the world cinema still I really believe that Indians should not give a damn about oscars
and keep producing their best.
Now guys lets stop fooling around and try to realize the real appreciations.
